ColourNext 2012

ColourNext is the annual colour forecast for Indian interiors. Targeting architects and interior designers through an exhibition, digital and print media, this excercise has been instrumental in positioning Asian Paints not just as a manufacturer of paints but a market leader and proactive visionary.

Awakening

A theme reflecting the general mood of society where people are no longer willing to accept the usual corruption, disquite wanting to participate in setting things right.

Crystal

Crystal is a tale told in clues. It reacts to perspective, flashing a different facet with every turn, reflecting the world outside and the beauty within- scattering, uniting, revealing. It’s sharp elegance asks for a closer look, while the discerning eye lingers on its sublime grace.
Evolve and eclectic, the true aesthete delves deeper, celebrates complexity and appreciates detail. Touched by the finer nuances of art, culture and emotion, their world is curated with an eye for the truly refined, beyond borders.

The installation, composed of overlapping forms created using light and acrylic, at one level creates a complex and multi layered ‘entity’ at the core of which is a Y fractal form growing in a geometric manner. While at another, it’s symmetry, transparency and light hues create a pure and simple ethereal feel instigating a philosophical journey, meditative as well as reflective.

Small Joys

Representing that unplanned moment of happiness
..in a pool of puddle after a burst of rain; playing with paper boats..

An interactive installation; with proximity sensors controlling sound + animation on touch screen. Visitors play with the paper boats in the digital screen, pushing it from one screen to the other. The experience is set within a room with many drawers. The drawers being a metaphor for small intimate spaces where one stores personal items and sometimes, moments and memories of loved ones.

Headrush

Inspired by those who play by their own rules. Who defy boundaries of the possible and thrill in the unexplored — within and around them. For whom the biggest risk is not one taking at all. In a world where spirit triumphs over reason.

This installation represents this adventurous persona which is dynamic and unpredictable at first glance with it's jagged and angular forms. But on closer inspection, one sees an almost organic continuity that flows through the white threads juxtaposed with a metal frame making up the structure. This seemingly chaotic installation holds  within a search for beauty and meaning.
